Solutions Architect

We are looking for experienced pre-sales professionals with a successful track record of landing large enterprise customers, even as a smaller company. Working with our founders, you will define and direct the technical strategy for our largest and most important accounts, leading to widespread use of our products, as well as broader and deeper adoption of mobile observability within those accounts.
You will lean upon your solid background in value selling, technical and business qualifications, technical account management, and technical leadership to maximize customer success. While you will work closely with product and engineering, this is a technical role, and you will be asked to apply our unique approach to mobile observability to a range of use cases important to target accounts in verticals such as High Tech, Finance, and Retail.
bitdrift exists to solve a common, frustrating, and costly problem: observability. Developers need visibility in the things that their app runs on – whether it be servers (coming soon), or mobile devices. And though there are many, many, many observability solutions out there – including highly successful public companies – most developers will tell you that observability is still the bane of their existence. Despite (or perhaps because of) it being the single biggest line item on their infrastructure bill, developers still generally don’t have the observability data they need to really understand what’s going on. And because they pay up the nose for everything they store, whether it’s useful or not, the incentive is to be highly stingy on what they log, to the detriment of their visibility and their users.
bitdrift is a bit of an unusual startup in that we’ve been at this for a while. The bitdrift team used to work at Lyft, and over several years developed a comprehensive internal solution to the problems outlined above. It supported 50+ million devices at Lyft and saved the company 10s of millions of dollars per year. We spun out as an independent company last year with Lyft as our first marquee customer, and raised $15M from leading investors like Amplify Partners.

What You’re Responsible For
You work with multiple clients and prospects as the leading technical voice for bitdrift.
You implement the technical strategy in customer accounts via a close understanding of the company’s direction and customer needs. You will own how we position ourselves technically to solve specific problems within their app/product, integration, and rollout management.
You build trust and gain the respect of their engineering teams, as well as successfully communicate with executive stakeholders
You build a movement of technical champions within the account to ensure successful and continued adoption of the bitdrift platform throughout the organization.
You support and guide current customers through successful technical implementation of existing and newly developed features of the product to ensure customer satisfaction and retention.
You serve as the voice of the customer within bitdrift. Gather insights, feedback, and trends from our customers and community and work closely with our engineering and product teams to inform product development, as well as documentation and technical articles.
Who You Are
A self-starter with more than 5 years of experience in a similar role, able to rapidly understand complex situations and drive to successful outcomes.
Exceptional verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to explain complex technical concepts in an easy-to-understand manner.
Proficiency at establishing virtual teams and leading them to success within accounts.
Proven track record in selling large deals (> $1m ACV) to global accounts.
Demonstrated skills around successful technical and business deal qualification to drive sales opportunities to a close.
Forming lasting relationships with executives and influencers within a company. This may include travel to customer locations regularly.
Technical skills in mobile development, observability, and cloud preferred.
Production programming experience in Swift, Java, Kotlin, or Rust preferred.
What to Expect in the First 30 Days
You’ll have an accelerated onboarding process, where you gain familiarity with our products and existing codebase by pairing with a senior engineer to support existing customers and prospects on their path to using or evaluating the product. This will involve answering technical questions, building assets in the product, driving potential bug fixes, architectural changes, and onboarding projects integrating our core product. You’ll also be asked to sit in on a number of customer interactions as we present and integrate our platform. We’ll also ask you to contribute to our documentation and public channels (blog, social).
What to Expect in the First 90 Days
Take personal ownership of multiple initiatives to improve our Proof of Concept and onboarding processes, increase our conversion and retention by improving the understandability of our product, and shorten the time to value for our customers.
Participate in multiple sales conversations, Proof of Value engagements, and integration and onboarding processes.
Help us scale customer feedback by building systems to collect, collate, and close feedback loops into our products, with the ultimate goal of significantly influencing our product roadmap.
